Are you interested in seeing patrols in action? If you'd like to apply to do a ride-along with an officer, you can complete the ride-along application below. Once we have it, we'll review your information and be in touch!
Lago Vista Police Department Ride-Along Request
The purpose of the ride-along program is to allow community members to see what police officer encounters while on their regular tour of duty. Currently, the program allows for one ride-along. By completing this form, you consent to a basic background check, including for warrants, and must be 18 or older and pass that background to be considered.
Once your application is approved, the patrol supervisor or Lieutenant will contact you to schedule the ride-along.
While every effort will be made to ensure your safety, Officers' first responsibility is to carry out their duties. In emergencies, you must immediately and without any questions comply and follow the lawful directions of the Officer when on patrol. Failure to do so will result in the discontinuation of the ride-along. The Officer and any appropriate supervisor may discontinue the ride-along whenever they deem it in the Department's best interest.
