Warn Central Texas is a program promoting voluntary registrations for the regional notification system (RNS) used by the Capital Area Council of Governments and its regional government partners in Bastrop, Blanco, Burnet, Caldwell, Fayette, Hays, Lee, Llano, Travis, and Williamson counties. The RNS program is powered by Everbridge, which allows local officials to contact people in their communities by cellphone, email, text, or mobile app during disasters or public safety events.
Be sure to make your emergency plan. Prepare and plan today so that when disaster strikes, you are ready. Central Texas, including Travis County, is known as Flash Flood Alley. Other emergencies, such as wildfires, tornadoes, and severe weather, also occur in our area, so planning and preparation are vital to protecting life and property.
The LCRA Flood Operations Notification Service (LCRA FONS) alerts subscribers of flood operations at dams along the
Highland Lakes and Lake Bastrop by email, text, and a recorded phone call. See the FONS Frequently Asked Questions for more information.
How do I sign up?
Complete the online registration form or call LCRA at 512-578-3246. The online registration is through RAVE, a third-party provider that sends the alerts, and takes about two minutes.
Be prepared and get alerts when it’s time to evacuate, create your emergency supply kit and your evacuation plan.
