Lago Vista is located in the heart of the Texas Hill Country, offering a unique blend of natural beauty, urban excitement, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. The Lago Vista Police Department is dedicated to ensuring the safety and well-being of everyone in our community—including residents, workers, and visitors. Our highly-trained police force in the City of Lago Vista is committed to ensuring the safety of all community residents, workers, and visitors. We strive to create a safe and enjoyable environment for everyone through collaboration with the community and a commitment to excellence in law enforcement services. 

Our department includes 21 sworn officers and 11 civilian employees, working across several divisions such as patrol, criminal investigations, communications, and code enforcement.  Under the leadership of our Chief of Police, our experienced team is committed to upholding the law and ensuring the safety of our community.

Our department provides proactive patrol services, responds to emergency calls, investigates criminal activities, enforces traffic laws, and engages in crime prevention initiatives. Notably, over 75% of the department's sworn personnel are assigned to patrol functions, ensuring a strong, visible presence in the community at all times.

The Lago Vista Police Department provides high-visibility, proactive patrols across the city, ensuring the safety and well-being of our community. Our core responsibilities include responding to 911 calls and service requests, investigating criminal offenses, enforcing traffic laws and city ordinances, monitoring registered sex offenders, conducting crime prevention initiatives, and delivering a wide range of public safety services to the citizens of Lago Vista. Our Emergency Communications Center operates 24/7, managing over 25,000 calls annually to ensure timely and efficient responses to emergencies throughout the area.

With a commitment to public safety, we are proud to offer a safe, welcoming environment for residences and visitors alike.
