The Travis County Tax Assessor-Collector collects the City's property taxes. Taxes are billed in October of each year and are due upon receipt of the statement. By state law, on January 1, a tax lien is automatically placed on the property to ensure taxes are paid. On February 1, penalties and interest begin to accrue.
