WarnCentralTexas.org is a free emergency notification system provided by the Capital Area Council of Governments (CAPCOG) and its regional partners to keep Central Texas residents informed during critical incidents. By registering your cell phone, email address, and landline, you can receive real-time alerts by text, email, or phone call about emergencies affecting your neighborhood.

This system provides reliable, location-specific information when it matters most, including:

  • Evacuation notices during floods or wildfires

  • Shelter-in-place warnings during severe weather

  • Hazardous materials incidents and areas to avoid

  • Law enforcement activity such as police manhunts

  • Health advisories, including boil water notices or prolonged power outages

Because traditional landline use continues to decline, registering your cell phone and email ensures you’ll receive alerts even when you’re not at home. You can also sign up to receive notifications for multiple locations, such as your workplace or vacation home, anywhere within the 10-county region served (Bastrop, Blanco, Burnet, Caldwell, Fayette, Hays, Lee, Llano, Travis, and Williamson counties).
