In November 2023, the City of Lago Vista and the Lago Vista Independent School District finalized a Memorandum of Understanding outlining the deployment of a School Resource Officer within the school community. The main objective of the School Resource Officer is to enhance safety and security by maintaining a visible presence on campus, thereby reducing concerns about crime. Additionally, the SRO will act as a bridge between the police department and the School District, offering support to faculty and staff by delivering educational programs on essential life skills.
