Compliance Dismissals
Some violations are eligible for dismissal with proof of compliance and payment of a dismissal fee on or before the appearance date indicated on your citation.
Payments can be made online, by mail or placed in one of the local utility drop boxes (located at city hall and at the court clerk's office). We accept cash (only in person), money order, cashier's check, personal check or credit/debit card (a processing fee will apply anytime a card is used).
All payment documents must include citation number. The following charges may be dismissed with receipt of these listed requirements:
Change of Address on Driver's License
Proof of updated address on driver's license no later than court appearance date.
Submission of dismissal fee of $20.
Defective Equipment
Brake lights, headlights, etc.
Must show proof that the equipment has been repaired and in working order by one of the following:
- Bringing the vehicle to the court clerk's office to be viewed to verify the equipment has been repaired and working.
- Providing a photo of the equipment working and the license plate of the vehicle included in the photo.
- Submitting an invoice showing work was performed. This does not include a receipt showing only the purchase of the equipment.
Submission of $10.
Expired Driver's License
Proof of renewal on or before court appearance date.
Submission of dismissal fee of $20.
Expired Motor Vehicle Registration
Proof of registration on or before court appearance date.
Must inform county upon registration that a citation was received and pay the late registration penalty. We cannot dismiss if you do not pay this penalty.
Provide receipt indicating "penalty paid" to the court on or before the appearance date.
Submission of dismissal fee of $20.
No Insurance
Must show proof that you had insurance on the date and time of the violation. Proof must identify either you by name or the vehicle listed on the citation. Please note: Insurance documents will be verified by the court with the insurance company prior to dismissal. There is no court fee for this dismissal.
