Welcome to my library profile, a doorway to the limitless realm of imagination! From the treasured haven of my mother's library during my childhood, my passion for books has bloomed into a lifelong love affair. When I'm not curating shelves and orchestrating captivating library programs, I'm penning my next literary adventure, guided by creativity's radiant beacon, infusing each page with enchanting tales.

I’m just a Kansas girl whose heart has lived in Texas for 30+ years!! As a former middle school teacher, I treasured listening to the hearts of students as they shared their stories, a true part of themselves. The LV Library community thrives on uncovering stories of our world and more importantly, the stories of people! And me, my story continues to evolve.

Gayleen Profile Picture(2)

Hello, I’m Gayleen. As an author and former journalist, I’ve spent a lot of time in libraries - mostly as a patron doing research. Through volunteering at the Lago Vista Library, I realized helping people with books and resources brings me tremendous joy. That prompted my return to school, and I’m currently working on a masters in library science through the University of North Texas’s online program. When I’m not reading, I’m usually writing, or doing research for writing (I’ll tell you a secret-everything is writing research.)  I enjoy nonfiction and documentaries on nearly every subject, but novels for children and young adults hold a special place in my heart. It took me a long time to figure out what I wanted to be when I grew up and I’m still driven by a sense of curiosity and wonder to discover what life’s path has in store for me.
