Tip # 6

Monday April 8, 2024 will be a SPECTACULAR EVENT you're sure not to forget as we are in the direct line for Path of Totality beginning around 1:35 pm for around 3 minutes and 31 seconds!

๐ŸŒŸ Tip #6: Invite Them Back and Furry Friends! ๐Ÿพ Our community shines during the eclipse. Remind visitors of our charm, hospitality, and natural beauty. Encourage them to plan a return visit, share local favorites, and make them feel always welcome!

๐Ÿพ๐Ÿถ๐ŸฑWhen it comes to our furry friends, remember they haven't been hearing about this celestial event and are very unlikely to look directly at the sun. Eclipse glasses are not necessary for them and can even be dangerous. Dogs and cats may respond in various ways, so be attentive to their behavior and provide comfort as needed.  Your pet may exhibit (1) nighttime behavior, and/or (2) anxiety similar to thunderstorms or fireworks. It's a good idea to have your pet's most "comfort inducing" item or treat nearby. Mostly, just be attentive to their behavior.
๐ŸพIf you take your dog outside (or with you away from home) to view the eclipse, be sure to: ๐Ÿถ๐Ÿฑ
1. Watch your dog to make sure he/she isn't staring skyward. Take a chew or favorite toy to serve as a distraction while you take in the minutes wearing your own solar glasses.
2. Make sure your dog is on a leash and is securely fastened.
