Every year the City of Lago Vista hosts the Annual Holiday Tree Lighting Event the first Monday of December that is free for the community to enjoy. Kids young and old join together to watch dancers, singers, and performers on stage with festivities and goodies that fill the night air. Businesses, nonprofit organizations, and churches donate their time and delicious treats to make your holiday cheer festive and delightful. The big moment comes when the Holiday Tree is lit up along with the lights in our Winter Wonderland display and all throughout the City, in coordination with the Grande entrance of SANTA himself, as the HS band plays "Here Comes Santa Clause". After Santa makes his grand entrance, he will accompany Mrs. Clause and his Elves for an opportunity to have the children whisper in his ear what they want for Christmas, as well as offer free photos, goodies and activities.
The City also provides a special mailbox for Santa's letters to be dropped off at from mid November to mid December, which is located in the City Hall parking lot next to the Library. Make sure to provide a return address if you wish for Santa to write you back!
It's a wonderful night for everyone!
